Amazon-backed Deliveroo reveals it lost $309 million in 2020 ahead of IPO – CNBC

Aurelien Morissard | IP3 | Getty Images LONDON —Deliveroo, the Amazon-backed food delivery service, has revealed that it recorded a loss of £223.7 million ($309 million) last year in plans to float on the London Stock Exchange that were published Monday. Deliveroo's losses are substantially less than they were in 2019, when the London-headquartered firm recorded a loss of £317 million. While the eight-year-old company is still in the red, its revenues climbed to £4.1 billion in 2020, up from £2.5 billion in 2019. A date for Deliveroo's initial public offering has not been officially announced but it is likely to be in the next few weeks. Hundreds gathered at Boulder, Colorado's University Hill on Saturday night, prompting police to disperse the massive party, Boulder police said Saturday. An estimated 500 to 800 people were there at the height of the incident, according to authorities. CBS Denver reports that SWAT team members helped police, who used a siren and gas to break up the event. Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold told reporters about two canisters' worth of tear gas was used. Herold added that no rubber bullets were used to her knowledge. Capitol security review recommends sweeping changes after riot – CBS News

House lawmakers on Monday will be briefed on a new security review that recommends widespread changes at the U.S. Capitol following the January 6 insurrection. The final report calls for the hiring of more than 1,000 Capitol Police officers, a dedicated quick reaction force and the installation of retractable fencing around the complex, according to a draft obtained by CBS News.
